It's shoebox time again!

Last year OBC contributed to the 1,000+ shoeboxes which went to Romania from the LE15 area. Let's make this year bigger and better in 4 easy steps...

  1. Get a shoe box and cover it in wrapping paper.
  2. Fill it with a variety of items from the categories below.
  3. Use the leaflet to label the box as for a boy or girl and give your contribution towards transportation.
  4. Bring it to church. The collection date is yet to be confirmed but will probably be during the first two weeks of November.

What to put in?

Toys – bear, soft toy, tennis ball, finger puppet, jigsaw, yo-yo, building blocks, small musical instrument, trucks, cars, dolls etc.

Educational supplies – felt pens, pens, pencils, pencil sharpener, eraser, colouring book, notepad, picture or puzzle book, chalk, pencil case, stickers etc.

Hygiene items – toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, comb, hair clips, bar of soap, flannel etc.

Other items – sweets, gloves, scarf, sunglasses, cap, hat, bangles, necklaces etc.

An ideal box has items from all of the categories.

Don't feel you can do a whole box?

As in previous years, there will be a collection at at church for any contributions. These will be collated into a group box

Anyone wishing to contribute by knitting items for boxes can get pattern suggestions at http://www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk/knitting-patterns or from the table at church. Please be aware, that home-stuffed items cannot be accepted by Samaritan's Purse.
